Earth, Wind Fire Perform Medley Of Their Hits On The Voice

One of the biggest groups from the 70s and 80s, Earth, Wind & Fire, took the stage on The Voice and gave an outstanding performance, playing a medley of their most popular and beloved hits.

There are some songs that a majority of the population instantly recognizes within the first few notes. Classic tunes from The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash fall into this exclusive category of beloved songs. When those songs begin playing, you can’t help but sing and tap your toe along.

Earth, Wind & Fire is another group that has produced several memorable tracks during their career. In a clip posted on YouTube, the legendary group appeared on The Voice and played those beloved hits.

Who doesn’t love “Boogie Wonderland,” “Let’s Groove” and the iconic “September?”

“Do you remember, the 21st night of September
Love was changing the mind of pretenders
While chasing the clouds away”

The guys sound absolutely fantastic! They put on a show-stopping performance that had the entire studio audience singing and dancing.

Their music is so infectious that you can’t help but provide your own vocals as well. Listening to an Earth, Wind & Fire song will instantly improve your mood!

Others who commented on the YouTube link mentioned how much they loved and adored their performance on The Voice.

“It’s amazing how these guys sound as good as they did 45 years ago!!” one person wrote.

“I have no idea how The Voice got Earth, Wind, and Fire, but this honestly feels like the biggest stars they’ve ever gotten,” a second individual added

“One of my fav groups. Been listening for over 50 years. They still got it,” someone else posted.

Earth, Wind & Fire songs are still in heavy rotation on radio stations today. Television shows, commercials and films also heavily use the legendary group’s terrific music.

Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us make songs to the Lord; sending up glad voices to the Rock of our salvation.”

Reba McEntire And Jacquie Roar Cover Wynonna Judd’s ‘No One Else On Earth’

The Queen of Country Music, Reba McEntire, and Jacquie Roar turned in a stunning and awe-inspiring duet to Wynonna Judd’s hit “No One Else on Earth.”

Some songs are so catchy, upbeat and fun that they transcend genres. Those tunes are able to crossover and find an audience with people who don’t typically enjoy country, rock, pop or some other genre. When people who aren’t country fans are humming and singing a country track, that’s when you know a song is a hit.

In a video posted on YouTube, Reba and Jacquie take The Voice stage and perform a track that fits perfectly in that exclusive category: “No One Else on Earth.”

“No one else on Earth
Could ever hurt me
Break my heart the way you do
No one else on Earth”

The two gifted musicians’ duet is incredible, with their voices complementing one another perfectly. No one appears to be trying to outshine or outdo the other. Instead, they both seem more interested in delivering the best performance possible. And they appear to have reached their goal.

From the opening moments of the performance, the studio audience is on their feet, cheering and applauding. Reba’s fellow The Voice coach, John Legend, is spotted with a huge smile as he moves ever so slightly to the beat.

You’ll likely find yourself watching this stunning duet multiple times. Soon enough, you may even sing and move a toe or two to the infectious beat.

The song’s lyrics that detail someone dealing with a breakup and a broken heart aren’t the happiest in the world. But the exquisite vocal performances and the upbeat, fast-paced melody make for a most enjoyable listening experience.

The only way to have made this performance any better would have been if Wynonna had walked out on stage and joined them at some point. That would have sent the studio audience, the judges and those watching at home wild.

Ephesians 5:19 “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;”

Tim Atwood ‘Swing Low, Sweet Chariot' Performance On Larry’s Country Diner

Country music singer Tim Atwood gave a stunning performance of one of the best-known Christian hymns of all time, “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot,” on Larry’s Country Diner.

Death is commonly the biggest fear for most people. But death is also something that everyone will, at one time or another, experience. Likely, death has already impacted our lives in one form or another. Nevertheless, the uncertainty and many unknowns surrounding death are frightening.

However, because of Christ’s willing sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection, we do not have to fear death. Christ’s paid the price, shedding His blood for you and me. He won the victory over sin and death.

“Swing Low, Sweet Chariot” is a tune about facing death with peace, certainty and a lack of fear only found in Christ. For those in Christ, death is not the end because there is everlasting life with Him. Death no longer has a hold or carries any sting because of Christ’s sacrifice. He, and He alone made a way.

Praise God!

“Swing low, sweet chariot
Coming for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Coming for to carry me home”

Before getting into his moving and emotional performance, Tim shared a rib-tickling situation he witnessed at church one day.

“I was at church the other day, and as I was leaving, the preacher was back shaking hands with everybody,” he said. “And a little boy walked up and shook hands with the preacher, and he put $5 in the preacher’s hand.”

Of course, as Steve mentions, the preacher was momentarily confused by the youngster’s unexpected generosity. But it quickly all made sense.

“The preacher said, ‘Son, you don’t have to do that,’ Steve recalled. “He said, ‘Yeah, I think I do. My dad said you’re the poorest preacher we’ve ever had.’”

Romans 14:8 “For whether we live, we live to the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.”

Teenager Dazzles With 'Ave Maria' Performance

While a man with sunglasses sits at a piano, a young woman begins to wow the shopping crowds. In this video, a teenager dazzles with “Ave Maria” performance.

As the elevator ascends and descends right behind this duo, and people are casually walking by, a young woman and her accompanist begin to perform a classic Christmas hit. “Ave Maria” is a captivating and melodically intriguing song.

The student’s name is Miranda, and her teacher is Dr. Brendan Kavanagh. She focuses on the lyrics found on her phone and vocalizes with such confidence and joy. Her voice is truly angelic.

Miranda has a stunning soprano voice, which causes others to gather around. The crowd cheers at the end of their performance. They stand together and thank the onlookers. The two of them then talk about her love for opera. Dr. Kavanagh tells the camera to check out more of Miranda’s music. She shares her Instagram at Miranda OA.

It is really wonderful watching the music teacher show such faith and confidence in his student. What is also beautiful is the two of them sharing their love for music across the generations. I love how Dr. Kavanaugh is promoting this young woman in her specific gift.

Although the teacher is likely far more experienced than his student, he is cultivating her talent and directing others to her work. This is a sweet reminder that God has entrusted us as His children with His callings and gifts. Apart from Him, we can do nothing, but He provides us with platforms of opportunity, and we ultimately redirect those moments for His glory.

"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

Southern Raised Stunning Rendition Of ‘Jolene’

Bluegrass and country music group Southern Raised turned in a marvelous cover of a classic tune by the legendary Dolly Parton.

Nearly every band in existence has performed a cover or two. It’s a timeless tradition and practice that every musician has done at one point or another during their career. Even some of the most well-known and beloved artists play the songs of their fellow musicians.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the incredibly talented group Southern Raised plays Dolly Parton’s beloved song “Jolene.” It’s a cover that you must hear to believe. It’s a simply fantastic rendition, especially the vocal performances.

“Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Oh, I’m begging of you, please don’t take my man
Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene
Please don’t take him even though you can”

The young woman’s voice, the lyrics and the expertly played instruments combine to make a lovely and dazzling cover. The video is more than worth several plays and listens.

This is a cover that those who love and adore the original from Dolly will appreciate. The musicians in the clip do the song justice, bringing much emotion and talent to their upbeat and catchy performance.

The legendary Dolly would also likely give her enthusiastic approval to Southern Raised’s cover of her hit from the 1970s.

Others who commented on the YouTube link expressed their love and utter delight at Southern Raised’s cover of “Jolene.”

“This is the best group I follow! Vocals are so beautiful by all of them! Bass singer is absolutely amazing beautiful the best! Would love to met (sic) them and listen to them in person,” one person commented.

“I totally loved your version of this song!!! The whole band did awesome, but MAN, DID I LOVE THE VIOLIN PLAYING and the singing!!!” a second person added

“I’ve heard several versions of this song and this by far is my favorite! Thank you!” someone else wrote

Psalm 95:1 “O come, let us sing to the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation.”

“Pure Imagination” The Hound + The Fox, Peter Hollens, Evynne Hollens

Most will have a hard time recalling any version other than Gene Wilder’s in the 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, but The Hound+The Fox, along with their friends, perform “Pure Imagination” in their own lovely, dreamy way.

Pure Imagination” was written by Leslie Bricusse and Anthony Newly for the soundtrack of the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, which was based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. And, to confuse matters, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the 2005 reboot film based on the same book and starring Johnny Depp; however, the song was never sung in Johnny’s movie.

In this stunning rendering of the song, The Hound+The Fox invites their fellow Oregonians and good friends to join them.

The Hound+The Fox are husband and wife, Reilly and McKenzie Zamber. The crazy talented couple began making videos about ten years ago, and they have performed with and/or produced videos for a variety of talented artists, including Pentatonix, Home Free, Tim Foust, and others.

In this video, they are joined by Peter and Evynne Hollens. The Hollens’ have plenty of musical irons in the fire as well, and if you aren’t certain and want to know exactly who is who, Peter and Evynne appear in the video side-by-side at 1:10.

Listen to their exquisite voices—sweet, but without any tooth decay! McKenzie sings solo first, standing against a candied Christmas backdrop. Her voice is pure and perfect, and she is beautiful. In fact, all four of the singers are quite attractive, and the close-up shots make it hard not to notice that the ladies have deep, dark brown eyes; their husband's eyes are kind and blue-green in color.

Their performance is calming and ethereal, and the video matches that mood wonderfully. And, while the original version was in a movie for kids, their rendering is on a full-length album primarily for babies; it’s entitled Star Songs: Lullabies for the Whole Family.

If this song takes you back to the 1971 classic movie, you’re in luck. Timothée Chalamet stars as Willy Wonka in the upcoming movie Wonka, scheduled for release on December 15.

If you want a real gift for Christmas, check out another The Hound+The Fox performance as they sing Mary, Did You Know in this stirring video.

Jennifer Hudson Shares Beautiful Duet With 14-Year-Old Viral Teenager

There is much to appreciate about Jennifer Hudson’s “Spotlight” segment and amazing duet with a 14–year–old Montgomery, Alabama teen—whose singing talent has gotten a lot of attention recently with his viral videos. Let’s break it down!

Ms. Hudson is personable, engaging, and warm; she has sincerity in the way she interacts with her guests, which is impressive. And is she gorgeous or what? I love her hair, her striking blue and green dress, and her purple nails.

As she and Reid Wilson chat, she learns that his musical influences are Toni Braxton, Whitney Houston, Ariana Grande, and Aretha Franklin. Reid loves soulful music, and he claims to be one of Jennifer’s biggest fans. He reports listening to Ms. Hudson when he takes walks and makes his bed each morning.

Reid shares that he’s been singing since he was a “little kid,” but only recently has he been putting in the work to turn his “screaming” into a more controlled and disciplined sound. When his brother, 16-year-old Ryley Tate Wilson (aka Ryley Tate and a semi-finalist on The Voice, Season 23) shared a video of Reid with his own vocal coach, she encouraged Reid to start taming his powerful voice. That’s when Reid got busy, and he’s been posting videos for about a year.

At the 2:00 minute mark, the Chicago native and American Idol alumnus asks for applause for Reid, saying, “Y'all give him a hand cuz he’s a baby, and he knows he is.” It is so motherly and sweet, and Reid doesn’t object one bit. He has already said “Yes, Ma’am” at least twice during their chat and is very respectful. Both the artist and the young man demonstrate unique humility.

Reid recounts the experience of learning that he’d been invited to The Jennifer Hudson Show. He describes running around the house, waving his arms, and yelling with excitement. And, at 3:20, we see the two sing together a portion of Aretha Franklin’s 1968 release, “Ain’t No Way.”

The notes that flow from Reid are strong, rich, and impassioned, and Jennifer pairs with him wonderfully. Just like Ryley Tate—at the piano and bringing the duet home with the final few words, Reid has obviously got crazy musical gifts!

While Reid hopes to sing for a living, this homeschooled teen also has a lot of other interests. He enjoys baking, crochet, gymnastics, baseball, and soccer. It sounds like Reid has a fabulous future!

“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.” Psalms 28:7

'Somewhere In The Sunshine' Nashville Star Charles Esten Official Music Video

Check out this incredible new country song with a clear Biblical message. 'Somewhere In The Sunshine' by Nashville Star Charles Esten official music video.

If you need a pick-me-up today, then check out this new music video. This song is such a blessing to those grieving the loss of their loved ones who know Jesus. There is a gift in having the peace of heaven. Charles is seen in the sunshine, sitting at a river with his guitar and standing on a bridge. He has a fantastic voice and is easy to listen to. You can feel the emotion and the celebration in his voice.

The chorus sings:

No more pain, finally free
I'm right where I'm meant to be
No, I ain't there beneath that Georgia pine
I’m somewhere in the sunshine

The lyrics are singing from the perspective of a loved one who has passed away and gone to heaven. Throughout the song, he paints a picture of heaven being better than what we have here.

He reminds the listener that heaven means that we are out of the painful world. There is peace and a blessing in that guarantee of life with the Lord. The person Charles is singing about is not there in the Georgia ground, he is in the “sunshine.”

Maybe you have lost a loved one and need a reminder today that they are doing more than okay. May this song bring great comfort to you in knowing that there is hope after death. Scripture tells us that heaven is real and to be away from the body means that we are with the Lord.

“In fact, we are confident, and we would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” 2 Corinthians 5:8

Voices Of Liberty Sing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' At Walt Disney World

In a beautiful tribute to those who served our country, Voices Of Liberty sing, ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ at Walt Disney World! In the heart of the magical realm that is Walt Disney World, a divine symphony unfolds as the Voices of Liberty, with angelic voices and fervent spirit, deliver a rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' that transcends the ordinary.

This captivating performance, as captured in the ethereal video filmed at Epcot, it becomes a sacred moment where earthly voices unite in a harmonious expression of faith and hope.

Written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for the musical Carousel in 1956, the song encourages support for those who are experiencing hardship and struggles.

Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone
You'll never walk alone

As the resounding chords and soul-stirring lyrics echo through the hallowed halls of Disney World, there's a palpable sense of something greater at play. The divine inspiration behind this rendition becomes evident as the Voices of Liberty channel not only their vocal prowess but also a profound spiritual energy. 'You'll Never Walk Alone,' a timeless classic, takes on a new dimension as it becomes a hymn of reassurance, echoing the comforting promise that, with God, one is never truly alone.

In the sacred space of this performance, families and individuals alike are reminded of the divine presence that walks beside them through the journey of life. The harmonious convergence of voices serves as a testament to the power of music to uplift the soul and connect us to something beyond the tangible, an angelic vibrancy that speaks to the eternal truth of God's enduring love.

May this heavenly rendition of 'You'll Never Walk Alone' serve as a reminder that, in the divine harmony of life, our individual voices join together to create a symphony of love and connection—a melody that resonates with the eternal promise that indeed, we are never alone on this sacred journey as fellow brothers and sisters in Christ walk alongside us with Jesus as our guide.

Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Huntley Dazzles ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ On The Voice

One young man gave a dazzling and awe-inspiring performance of a classic tune from the legendary group The Beatles on The Voice.

Contestants on programs like American Idol, The Voice and America’s Got Talent must continually raise and elevate their performance. The competition on those shows is too stiff to not do so. Failing to rise to the occasion even just one time will more than likely result in that contestant being sent home by the end of the show.

Huntley, a member of Team Niall on The Voice, likely does not have to worry about going home any time soon, especially after his latest appearance on The Voice stage. The young man turned in a more modern, hard rock version of “With a Little Help from My Friends,” a song originally made famous by the four lads from Liverpool.

“What would you do if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears, then I sing you a song
I will try not to sing out of key, yeah”

His vocal performance is absolutely fantastic, hitting all the right notes at the right moments. The guy can sing! It’s one performance that you’ll want to listen to repeatedly.

In addition to his singing, Huntley has a terrific stage presence and a lot of confidence. Anyone who watches will be able to tell that he feels at home and comfortable on the stage, belting out lyrics from The Beatles.

At one point during his performance, the camera shifts over to Huntley’s coach and one of the show’s judges, Niall Horan, who appears to be loving Huntley’s cover. He’s all smiles as he dances around in his chair.

By the end of the performance, Huntley receives a deafening and well-deserved round of applause from the studio audience.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Daddy-Daughter Duet To “Phantom Of The Opera” Classic

This incredible daddy-daughter duet to “Phantom of the Opera,” from the classic, beloved musical of the same name, will leave you wowed in a variety of ways. Check it out!

For those who have a love for the “Emerald Isle” and its stunning beauty, those who have a fascination for the tragic, romantic story of “The Phantom of the Opera,” and everyone who enjoys watching a little girl sing her precious heart out—this is one to watch!

Adorable Miss Emma Sophia, looking like a pink variation of Little Red Riding Hood, has got serious vocal range and power in that little body of hers! She portrays the play’s heroine, Christine Daaé, and her dad, of course, is Erik (better known as The Phantom).

Emma lives in Kinsale, Co. Cork in Ireland, and Ballysaggartmore Lodge and Towers in Lismore, Co. Waterford, Ireland, is the setting for the video. While not the hidden spaces within the innards of a theater, it is divinely mysterious and mystical. The forest and towers, built in the early 1800s, combined with the doom-promising music, certainly create a creepy vibe. However, the 7-year-old sprig of a girl is anything but creepy—even though she plays the part well!

Emma lands the first note confidently at 16 seconds. She is commanding, hitting the low notes and the high ones on cue. As she walks toward one of the towers, she is greeted on the walkway by the story’s masked villain. Dad begins his part at 1:01. He’s no musical slouch, either!

At about 1:50, Emma expertly invokes a gesture with the words “draw back in fear.” And she and Dad both add expression as they sing. The camera pans out to show the wooden landscape and then shoots the two from above as they circle each other on the tower-connecting bridge below. There’s an awesome close-up of Emma at 2:50. We see her blue eyes, fair complexion, soft brown ringlets, and poochy child’s mouth.

Christine (Emma) strides away from The Phantom (Dad), and, before long, she is singing those high notes. It’s a good thing there aren’t crystal wine glasses around!

Encore, Emma! We’ll be keeping our eyes on you!

“Anger is cruel, and wrath is like a flood, but jealousy is even more dangerous.” Proverbs 27:4

Violinist Performs Dazzling Cover Of 'Careless Whisper'

Check out this inspirational performance by two young artists downtown. A violinist performs a dazzling cover of 'Careless Whisper.'

Karolina Protsenko is known worldwide for her incredible skill set of performing violin while dancing. She has been in countless viral videos and interviewed on national platforms. In this video, Karolina has partnered with Avelina Kushnir, who can play the saxophone like none other. These two young ladies are just around 15 years old. They are influencing the arts even from such youthful ages.

At the start of the video Avelina begins playing the melody line of “Careless Whisper” with such confidence. A crowd gathers around to hear them play. Suddenly, Karolina comes in with a violin solo. The girls have sass and style as they play in harmony with one another. People all around pull out their phones to record.

One small boy pulls out an instrument, trying to imitate them. These young women bring something awe-inspiring into an everyday setting of shopping. It is absolutely incredible to witness. People of all ages and backgrounds stand together while enjoying the song. At one point, there are two little sisters who drop some money in their hat.

Then, the adorable preschool boy walks up with his instrument with joy. The girls dance around while hitting every note.

As the girls finish their performance, the crowd cheers and they take a bow and then hug one another. It is a sweet bond of sisterhood. There is something very special about watching people be unified. It reminds our hearts of what God originally designed.

The way that these two have worked together and give each other time to shine encourages us. We see a visual of true friendship and teamwork.

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” Psalm 133:1

Peter Hollens And Son Duet To Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’

An immensely talented vocalist, Peter Hollens, teamed up with his young son for a stunning and inspiring father-son duet to Journey’s beloved hit ‘Don’t Stop Believin’.

The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Presley and many other legendary acts have classic songs that are instantly recognizable, often within the first few notes. But as great and iconic as “Satisfaction” and “Here Comes the Sun” might be, there is one song that is likely more timeless than both of those: Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin.’”

Journey’s hit from the 1980s is still heard everywhere – on the radio, in television shows, in commercials and in films. It’s a track everyone is more than familiar with and likely knows most of the song’s lyrics. In a clip posted on YouTube, Peter Hollens and his son perform the classic tune together.

Peter and his son deliver a lovely and enjoyable version of the classic song. Not only do they sing the song together, but it’s an a cappella version, with the talented father-son duo providing all the sound themselves.

“Don’t stop believin’
Hold on to that feelin’
Streetlights, people”

Peter’s talent did not stop with him. His son, while young and not as experienced with music as his father, still has a wealth of musical talent. The young man sounds awesome as he belts the iconic and memorable lyrics about not giving up and continuing to fight despite the odds.

In addition to sounding terrific, recording their cover of the Journey tune appears to have been an awesome bonding opportunity for the father and son. Both Peter and his son have massive smiles on their faces throughout the entirety of the short clip. They clearly enjoyed each other’s company while singing arguably one of the best and most memorable songs ever written.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Lainey Wilson Dolly Parton Sing 'Mama He's Crazy' Duet To Honor The Judds

During this beautiful tribute, Lainey Wilson & Dolly Parton sing, “Mama He’s Crazy” duet to honor The Judds.

Lainey is an upcoming country singer, very similar to the style of Dolly. They are both unique in their voices, but have such a similar tone. The two sopranos singing together is stunning. It is so easy to listen to these storytellers. This song has an old-school style, blended with a modern twist. It is the perfect combination and tribute.

Naomi and Wynonna Judd originally released “Mama He’s Crazy” on their 1984 album Why Not Me. This mother/daughter duo were powerhouse country stars in the 80s. Sadly, Naomi Judd passed away in 2022. It is heartbreaking to grieve losses. Death is not easy, and in this song, Lainey and Dolly sing their best to honor the Judds after such a devastating time.

The comical and lighthearted song celebrates a time in Naomi’s life of happiness and fun with her daughter. The chorus sings:

Mama, he's crazy, crazy over me
And in my life is where he says
He always wants to be

The lyrics are about a young woman in love telling her mom about a special man who has won her heart. She describes him and celebrates his love. It is cheerful and such a special song about a mother/daughter bond. This song encompasses the type of strong relationship and friendship that Naomi had with Wynonna.

Maybe God has blessed you with a family relationship that is close like the Judds. As you listen to Dolly and Lainey sing this incredible song, take a minute to reflect on the gift of family and friendship. Although you may have grief and loss, there is celebration in the reflection of the blessing of our loved ones from God.

“Two people are better than one, because they get more done by working together. If one falls down, the other can help him up. But it is bad for the person who is alone and falls, because no one is there to help.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

A Cappella Rendition Of “Hide Me, Rock Of Ages”

Take a moment and start your day with this rousing, uplifting a cappella rendition of “Hide Me, Rock Of Ages.” The words of this old hymn and the faces of those singing it will surely brighten an ailing or tired spirit!

It looks like there are about sixteen singers lending their voices to the track. Their shirts indicate that they have come together for a project by Praise & Harmony, a ministry of Keith Lancaster, Sharon Lancaster, and Acapella Ministries. What a gathering it is!

Each person sings their designated part with such expression and joy. Simply watching their faces and movements throughout the song is entertaining. The ladies wear pretty shades of lipstick and smile brightly. The gentlemen accentuate their performance with eye and hand movement. Their bodies and gestures demonstrate the delight they have in Him!

“Hide Me, Rock Of Ages” was written and composed by Brantley C. George, a farmer and gospel song writer. The song was copyrighted in 1946, having first been written in pencil onto a brown paper sack. The hymn has been recorded by The Chuck Wagon Gang, The Statesmen, Porter Wagoner, and The Gatlin Brothers. Printed is 17 different hymnals, Mr. George received only $25 when he reportedly sold the rights to his song.

Here are few lines from the beautiful hymn:

Hide me oh blessed rock of ages (blessed rock of ages hide me)
'Til Thy blessed face I see (Thy face I see in glory)
When the storm around me rages (round me rages, blessed)
Rock of ages hide Thou me

As these talented musicians sing of the protection that we find in Christ and the reward He offers when He carries us home, each one knows their part. Each does the thing they do best to glorify God in this song. And isn’t that the goal for every one of us—to find that thing we do well and use it to serve Him!

“Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!” Psalms 47:6

5 A Cappella Men Of Home Free Sing ‘Oh, Pretty Woman’

A group of unbelievably talented vocalists - Home Free - gave a fun and catchy performance, providing their rendition of a classic tune from the 1960s.

The 1960s was a decade that produced dozens of classic songs, many of which are still in heavy rotation today. In addition to the radio, hits from the 1960s are often heard in movies, television programs and commercials. One can't help but get nostalgic and tap a toe when hearing songs like “I Get Around” from The Beach Boys, The Archies’ “Sugar, Sugar” or any 60s-era song from The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

One iconic song that continues to be heard on radio and TV and is, arguably, more beloved and influential than anything from The Beach Boys or The Doors is Roy Orbison’s “Oh, Pretty Woman.” In a clip posted on YouTube, the guys from Home Free put their spin on the 1962 hit.

“Pretty woman, walkin’ down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman, I don’t believe you, you’re not the truth
No one could look as good as you, mercy!”

In keeping with the era in which the song was released, the guys went all out, making sure their wardrobe and look helped to transport listeners and viewers back to the 1960s. They donned dark shades, bright, shiny gold-colored jackets, and black slacks. All five members even sport pompadours.

But the guys didn’t stop with their clothing. The mics they use in the 2-minute clip look like something the legendary Elvis Presley or the incomparable Patsy Cline would have used to serenade a crowd of adoring fans.

Oh yeah, in addition to their 60s-era look, there is Home Free’s incredibly delightful and upbeat, toe-tapping cover of the Roy Orbison classic. While no one will mistake it for the original Roy Orbison version, the guys still produce a fantastic and enjoyable cover.

Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”

Adorable Little Girl Sings ‘Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout The Good Old Days)’

An immensely talented little lady turned in an absolutely dazzling and lovely performance of a beloved tune from the legendary country music duo, The Judds.

The world is often a confusing and hurtful place. People tend to say one thing and do another. They make a promise or a vow and then don’t hold up their end of the deal or break it altogether. It’s enough to make most people yearn for a simpler time when someone’s word meant something.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young member of the Detty Sisters, a popular singing group, gives a cute performance of The Judds’ classic “Grandpa (Tell Me ‘Bout the Good Old Days).’”

Of course, as evidenced by the song’s title, it’s a tune about a youngster asking their grandfather to recount stories of simple and less confusing times. They desire to know of the past and when families stayed together and prayed before meals.

“Did lovers really fall in love to say
And stand beside each other, come what may?
Was a promise really something people kept and then forget
Did families really bow their heads and pray?
Did daddies really never go away?”

The young woman’s vocal performance is outstanding. The original, from Wynonna and Naomi, will never be topped. It doesn't matter who happens to cover it. However, this young lady does turn in a thoroughly enjoyable and pleasant version. It’s a rendition that could be listened to several times before someone reaches their limit and moves on to the next song.

She usually sings with other family members. But this time, she is all on her own, and she nails it. In addition to her vocal performance, the little girl appears to have an absolute ball as she sings and dances along to the Judds’ classic.

Numbers 30:2 “When a man takes an oath to the Lord, or gives an undertaking having the force of an oath, let him not go back from his word, but let him do whatever he has said he will do.”

5 A Cappella Men Of Home Free Sing ‘Life Is A Highway’

A handful of supremely talented vocalists turned in a catchy, toe-tapping performance of a song previously recorded by the popular country music group Rascal Flatts.

One of the best ways to describe life is as a journey. Twists, turns and unexpected detours abound on the highway of life. Some destinations are fun, thrilling and exciting, providing picture-perfect views and creating lifelong, deeply cherished memories. Other places along the road of life are much less enjoyable and can even be painful and heartbreaking. Regardless, life is a journey. It’s a highway, and we’re all constantly moving along life’s road, never staying in one place for too long.

In a clip posted on YouTube, the group Home Free performed “Life is a Highway.” It’s a tune about traveling all the twists, turns, bends and unexpected detours in life and taking all of it in stride.

However, part of that journey, which the song mentions, is about finding the right person for the trip. As everyone knows, road trips are always much more enjoyable and fun with someone else. Life is no different. No one knows what obstacles or problems will crop up in life, but having the love and support of someone willing to stand by your side through everything can and will make all the difference.

“Through all these cities and all these towns
It’s in my blood, and it’s all around
I love you now like I loved you then
This is the road, and these are the hands”

Home Free’s cover of “Life is a Highway” is more than worth a few listens and plays.

As their video shows, it appears that the guys had an absolute ball covering the song and putting their own twist on the catchy, upbeat tune. All that fun and enjoyment translates to the recording. The guys have created a delightful and pleasant cover.

Isaiah 62:10 “Go through, go through the doors; make ready the way of the people; let the highway be lifted up; let the stones be taken away; let a flag be lifted up over the peoples.”

Trio Performs Dolly Parton Classic 'Coat Of Many Colors'

A trio of gifted musicians perform Dolly Parton’s classic ‘Coat Of Many Colors.’

This classic country song became a hit for Dolly back in 1968. It spoke about a treasured coat that a girl’s mother sewed for her out of scrap pieces. Even though the coat may look funny to some people, it was a priceless gift to this young girl. We may not be rich. In fact, most of us are barely getting by but a mother’s love and her tireless giving create a foundation of love, faith, and contentment.

“As she sewed, she told a story from the Bible, she had read
About a coat of many colors Joseph wore and then she said
Perhaps this coat will bring you good luck and happiness
And I just couldn't wait to wear it”

The classic song has been a favorite cover song over the years. Today’s music video captures the simply beautiful talent of three young adults, two ladies and a gentleman playing guitars and the electric piano. Third Fret Harmony is a family music group with about 4,000 subscribers that plays country, and gospel music from famous country artists like Vince Gill, Wylon Jennings, and more.

This beautiful song not only reminds us of a mother’s love but also describes the process of humility, pride, acceptance, and hope. Dolly had been teased mercilessly about the rags her mother sewed into a coat. Once Dolly understood the depth of her mother’s love, she tried to get her bullies to see how it was a beautiful gift.

In the end, no one else’s opinion mattered to Dolly except her own. I imagine those who listen to this song will no doubt find themselves in a healing process as God heals the wounds of hurt, rejection, or being teased.

May the rendition from Third Fret Harmony be a musical gift of God’s acceptance regardless of your past. May it be a reminder of acceptance even though our lives are currently a mess. May it be a reminder we are rich in Christ even if we are poor.

Romans 11:15 “For since their rejection meant that God offered salvation to the rest of the world, their acceptance will be even more wonderful. It will be life for those who were dead!”

Bluegrass Family Band Performs 'Shenandoah'

The Peterson’s bluegrass family band performs a stunning version of ‘Shenandoah.’

These Missouri natives will stun you with their talent. Folk songs are perhaps one of the most recognizable music pieces played at festivals. gatherings, and concerts. The Petersen family are no strangers to folk music.

Surrounded by the Ozark mountains, this sibling group learns about the deep American history the Missouri River holds. The beloved song ‘Shenandoah’ became a popular song among Canadian and American fur traders traveling down the Missouri River in canoes.

By the mid-1800s, various versions of the song had been adopted by travelers worldwide. The meaning of Shenandoah means “Beautiful Daughter of the Stars,” and its legendary story describes Shenonadoah as a beautiful like found in the mountains of Virginia. But others believe the song Shenandoah was about a traveler who fell in love with a Native American daughter of a chief. Regardless of its historical roots, it has become a beloved Bluegrass classic.

In a clip posted on YouTube showcases the rich and wide range of octaves among the family including the various types of instruments they play. Surrounded by the lush forest of the Ozarks, the song begins with the violin, followed by the bass, banjo, and guitar before Katie’s enchanting voice as Ellen and Julianne provide a beautiful harmony.

Oh Shenandoah, I long to see you Look away rollin' river
Oh Shenandoah, I long to hear you Look away,
I'm bound away
Across the wide Missouri

The Petersen group is made up of Katie, Ellen, Matt, and Julianne, their mother Karen, and family friend Emmett Franz. They were first introduced to Bluegrass music at a festival in 2003. This encounter captured their hearts and they fell in love with the sound, the history, and what Bluegrass music is all about.

The Petersens family had played in front of live audiences for the last decade before branching out with YouTube. They are blessed to share their lives and what happens behind the scenes in their personal lives. The family loves to share their stories and music with fans. They are incredibly blessed and humbled to share their passion and talent.

We hope you enjoy this beautiful rendition of Shenandoah as much as the Petersens enjoyed performing. God bless them for sharing their musical gifts with the world.
