The Daily Pulse (Thursday, December 27, 2012): You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11 (NIV)
What was God's greatest Christmas gift to us? He gave us what was the most precious thing to Him...His Son. Every day of the new year we need to think of others before ourselves. That can be our continual gift to others. 2012 is almost over but we can keep the reminder of Christmas through 2013. Blessings to all.
It's a shame that we celebrate Thanksgiving only once a year. The truth is, living in an Attitude of Gratitude or what I like to call "ThanksLiving" is not only a blessing, but it's also a choice! Enjoy this "Blessed Beyond All Reason" video devotional!
Just heard this song for the first time the other day. I heard an interview with Mike Donehey about the story behind the song. He was talking about how when he was younger he used to get frustrated with God and ask him "why can't You make life easy?" Of course, the answer to that can be found in John 16:33, which says "In this world you will have troubles". Yes, indeed, in this life you *will* have troubles. He doesn't say "you *might* have troubles", he says "you *will* have troubles. But that's not the end of the verse. It goes on to say "But take heart! For I have overcome the world!". That's where redemption comes in, which is what this song is all about. It's a wonderful song.
Praise and thanksgiving to God do more than make us feel good.
